Light

Not enough time or resources for the full game? NO PROBLEM! The Secret N Light version of the game allows you to do any number of the 7 single-task options below. As your availability and resources fluctuate with life's seasons and challenges, you can still contribute in some ways to the community's Christmas spirit all year round.

It is also OK to take breaks from the game for a couple of weeks here and there.  And if your life ever gets very busy and taxing, at least try to do something once a month to maintain a dose of satisfaction that only comes with freely giving and contributing without expecting any compensation or recognition.

1. Electronic Invitations. Post the link to this game  or a little invitation video of you on Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc. Or read the QR code with your phone and text it individually (not spam) to a few friends every once in a while. Feel free to use any downloadable documents and pictures to create a more sophisticated invitation, if you have the skill and time. Tell them that everyone can join with as little time or resources as they can afford, and that every little contribution is appreciated as success.

2. Printed Invitations.  Think about grandmas in your neighbourhood or whom you accidentally meet in the grocery store, who have a lot of time and resources to play the game but are into screens and electronic devices. Consider homes without a printer, that may have other resources to contribute to the neighbourhood if they know about the game. We gradually add more useful Tools, both downloadable and printable, so that you can use them as they are or combine the graphics to create your own. Feel free to share with us your improved materials, so that we can post them for everyone interested to use them.

3. Tool Making. If you are good with graphics and/or are able to translate into other local languages, consider partnering with us into creating more downloadable and printable tools.

4.  House Calls. While walking your dog or taking a run through the neighbourhood, have a few invitations in your pocked for the odd person you may meet. If you don't regularly walk or jog for health maintenance, consider starting a regular walk at least every second day. Choose a different street or park as many times as you can, to reach and inspire people from more areas.

5. Only Cards. If you find joy in making crafts, you may like to focus on just making cards. you can hook up with someone who only bakes and partner up in playing the full game as a team.

6. Only Baking. If you love baking but are not crafty, consider hooking up with a card maker and partner up in playing the full game together, as a team.

7. Only Distribution. Consider distributing what others make, if you don't have the time, skill or resources to do the other parts of the game. You may be an extrovert person, the life of the party, who likes to mingle and talk to anyone and everyone around. You will love distributing the cheer and completing the portion of the game that others can't do. Consider the grandmas and grandpas who can make crafts and bake but don't have the mobility to cruise through the neighbourhood, or have a language barrier when it comes to taking to people.
