The Secret N Game was started at the beginning of winter 2024 by a regular neighbour who wanted to get a bit of Christmas spirit going during a postal strike. The immediate aim was to inspire at least a few neighbours when they could not receive Christmas cards. The long term hope was to start a wildfire of cheer and neighbourly care that keeps going all year round.
The game's logo was meant to be simple, easy to replicate by hand with a couple of markers. The gear around the initials is a symbol of long-reaching neighbourhood influence - just like one little gear can move many other gears and eventually move mountains. The dark red and green are a reminders that the game started with the good old Christmas spirit.
A larger copy of the logo is provided on the Tools page to print the original and glue it to their mail box or their special Secret N bag/container where neighbours can deliver cards and/or cookies. A small logo can be printed or hand-drawn on the envelope or cookie wrap before paying it forward to other neighbours.
Feel free to send a link to your friends in other neighbourhoods or cities, so they can also start a wave of Christmas spirit that keeps going all year round. After Christmas, think of anyone who is new in your neighbourhood, or had a baby, or lost family members, or just may be lonely. How about being a Secret N to at least one person each week of the year for no reason other than showing that you care?
